The event is expected to draw around 80 sailors and their coaches from Europe, Central and North America, Asia, and Australia. Nine countries are already being represented with room for more. The Davis Island Yacht Club is home to numerous regattas over the year, as well as providing an open-to-the-public summer learn-to-sail camp for youngsters and the opportunity for newcomers to try sailing during the daylight-savings-timed Thursday Night series. The 2.4mR sailboats will launch on November 6; racing can be observed from the Davis Island Seaplane Basin park and on the water. Powerboaters are requested to register with the organizers and to keep clear of the racing area. The fleet will set sail each day, racing around inflatable marks in Upper Tampa Bay before returning to harbor.
